Your Impact
Year after year, Gran Fondo Lake Huron shows what is possible when a community comes together to support care close to home. Here is what you have helped make happen.
2025
Gran Fondo Lake Huron, presented by Bruce Power and Suppliers, brought together more than 900 cyclists, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters for another unforgettable day. Thanks to the collective efforts of everyone involved, the 2025 ride raised $430,000 in support of local healthcare through the Saugeen Shores Hospital Foundation. This milestone pushed the event’s total fundraising impact to over $2 million, a powerful reflection of ongoing community commitment to advancing care close to home.
2024
In 2024, Gran Fondo Lake Huron raised over $400,000 to support critical breast imaging upgrades at Brightshores Health System’s regional hospital. Funds helped replace mammography equipment, including two new digital units, a biopsy chair, and a specimen unit. Support also enabled the addition of tomosynthesis imaging technology, aligning with the expansion of the Ontario Breast Screening Program to include patients as young as 40. These upgrades strengthened early detection and access to breast cancer screening across the region.
2023
The 2023 ride marked the largest fundraising year to date, raising $500,000 in support of the Brightshores Health System’s new Wellness and Recovery Centre. This first of its kind initiative in Canada expanded access to mental health and addiction services, providing integrated, recovery focused care for patients and families. Community support helped bring this innovative model of care to life, strengthening mental health services across the region.
2022
After two years away due to the pandemic, Gran Fondo Lake Huron returned stronger than ever in 2022. The ride raised $400,770 in support of the Foundation’s Bring Tom to Town campaign, including a $100,000 matching pledge from Bruce Power. Funds helped bring a state of the art CT scanner to Brightshores Southampton Hospital, significantly improving diagnostic imaging, reducing wait times, and allowing more patients to receive advanced care close to home.
