Back by popular demand, Key to Care returns in 2026.
This fan favourite adds an extra layer of excitement to ride day and takes place exclusively at Gran Fondo Lake Huron!
Key to Care is an on-site support-and-win opportunity held during the Gran Fondo Lake Huron awards ceremony at the Southampton Coliseum.
You purchase a Key to Care key, then after your ride, you can try your key in three different locks.
If your key opens a lock, you win the prize.

How to Get a Key
Key Pricing
- 1 key for $25
- 5 keys for $100
There are three easy ways to purchase your Key to Care.
Purchase online in advance
Buy your keys online and they will be packed inside your rider kit, ready for you at kit pick up.
Purchase when you register
Add Key to Care directly to your registration and your keys will be included with your kit.
Purchase on site
Keys will be available for purchase at kit pick up on Friday, August 14, and on event day, Saturday, August 15, at the Southampton Coliseum, while quantities last.
Keys are limited, and quantities are capped. Do not wait to purchase yours.
Who Can Play:
- Riders
- Volunteers
- Friends and family supporting a participant at the event.
Rules and Details:
- You must bring your key with you to the awards ceremony at the Southampton Coliseum
- You may try the locks once you return from your ride
- Lost keys cannot be replaced or refunded
- The game ends at 2:00 pm sharp on Saturday, August 15, 2026
- If you are unable to attend the awards ceremony, you can give your key to a trusted friend to try the lock for you
If a prize remains unclaimed at the end of the game, all 2026 fundraising participants will be entered into a draw, and a name will be selected.
Key to Care raises funds that help move healthcare forward in our community. Every key sold helps support care close to home, and gives you the chance to be part of something meaningful on ride day.
The more keys you buy, the more chances you get to unlock a prize.
