Bruce Telecom is a brand new Silver sponsor for the 2019 Gran Fondo Lake Huron, presented by Bruce Power!

The world has changed dramatically in one century. Bruce Telecom has never lost sight of why it started in 1911 – to help people connect, to stay intensely local, and to provide exceptional service to customers.

Its rural roots are as authentic as the farmers who came together to start it all. Together they created the Bruce Municipal Telephone System, a co-operative between local community members where trusted partners and opinions mattered. Although the business has evolved over 100 years, the foundation of values they built have remained committed to loyalty, honesty and quality.

Today Bruce Telecom is the region’s local communications leader. Trustworthy home phone, freedom of mobile, access to high-speed Internet, digital television – Bruce Telecom is readily available with the high-quality, secure, reliable technologies that ensure its customers across the region have everything they need to keep on top of it all just about everywhere they are.

Bruce Telecom employees come from the local area, not a large corporate centre, or a far-off place. They enjoy their work because they’re helping neighbours and families directly.

Bruce Telecom has been determined in holding true to one simple promise through over one century of transformations and reinventions: Connecting our Community.

“Bruce Telecom is very proud to support local healthcare. We recognize that hospitals rely on contributions from local businesses and residents to help bridge the gap between government funding and the resources required to meet the needs of the community. Our staff, friends, neighbours and customers benefit from our local hospitals and this is our way of giving back and connecting with the communities we serve in a meaningful way. We were blown away by the success of last year’s inaugural Gran Fondo Lake Huron and are thrilled to be onboard for this year’s event!” Erin Hammond, Sales and Marketing Manager at Bruce Telecom.

Why Ride?

This year, funds raised through Gran Fondo Lake Huron will strengthen healthcare in our region by enhancing regional stroke care and supporting essential equipment upgrades at Brightshores Southampton Hospital. Every dollar raised helps ensure our healthcare teams have the tools they need to provide high-quality, lifesaving care to our community and visitors.

When a stroke occurs, every second counts. Access to advanced imaging technology and rapid intervention tools can mean the difference between recovery and lifelong disability. Saugeen Shores residents rely on our designated stroke center in Owen Sound for urgent stroke care. Funds raised will help equip the center with essential upgrades to improve diagnosis and treatment, ensuring faster, more effective care for patients throughout our region.

Funds raised will also help upgrade vital equipment at Brightshores Southampton Hospital, ensuring our healthcare teams can provide exceptional care close to home. This year’s funding will replace essential tools like crash carts, keeping staff prepared for urgent situations. Investing in modern equipment enhances patient care, improves efficiency, and supports our hospital in meeting the community’s growing healthcare needs.

Your participation in Gran Fondo Lake Huron directly strengthens local healthcare. Whether you ride, volunteer, or donate, you are helping provide the vital resources that keep our hospital at its best, ensuring lifesaving care for our community today and for generations to come.
