Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation welcomes Promation Nuclear as a Silver Sponsor for the Gran Fondo Lake Huron

Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce that Promation Nuclear has joined the Gran Fondo Lake Huron team as a Silver Sponsor!  As a Silver Sponsor, Promation receives 3 complementary registrations, recognition on the website and social media, and signage at the event.

Originally founded in 1995, Promation—a leading designer and manufacturer of high-quality tooling, automation, and robotic systems—is a privately owned Canadian Corporation that embodies its commitment to embracing ethnic, gender, and cultural diversity within its business practices, and is proud to be an inclusive, socially responsible corporation.  Promation is supported by its four divisions; Nuclear, Automotive, Industrial, and Defence.

The Nuclear division has been delivering custom engineered solutions to the nuclear industry for over a decade, and has been a reliable Tooling partner to Bruce Power since 2011.  As a natural evolution in this ongoing successful relationship, Promation Nuclear Ltd. is proud to have established a local presence in the Grey-Bruce region with the recent opening of our office in downtown Port Elgin.  Promation holds firmly to our strong social values and local involvement within the communities in which we operate, and this opportunity to support the Gran Fondo Lake Huron initiative aligned very closely with our own core values, so therefore was a natural decision.

The 2018 Gran Fondo Lake Huron is a new fundraising initiative for the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation.  Executive Director Sally Kidson states “The cost of hospital equipment keeps rising and the need for state of the art equipment is real.  With the new Emergency Room and Lab expansion project nearing completion, we need to find new ways to increase our current fundraising goals.  This ride, with a goal of $150,000 to be raised, will help fill the gap between what we do now and what the need is going to be.”

Why Ride?

This year, funds raised through Gran Fondo Lake Huron will strengthen healthcare in our region by enhancing regional stroke care and supporting essential equipment upgrades at Brightshores Southampton Hospital. Every dollar raised helps ensure our healthcare teams have the tools they need to provide high-quality, lifesaving care to our community and visitors.

When a stroke occurs, every second counts. Access to advanced imaging technology and rapid intervention tools can mean the difference between recovery and lifelong disability. Saugeen Shores residents rely on our designated stroke center in Owen Sound for urgent stroke care. Funds raised will help equip the center with essential upgrades to improve diagnosis and treatment, ensuring faster, more effective care for patients throughout our region.

Funds raised will also help upgrade vital equipment at Brightshores Southampton Hospital, ensuring our healthcare teams can provide exceptional care close to home. This year’s funding will replace essential tools like crash carts, keeping staff prepared for urgent situations. Investing in modern equipment enhances patient care, improves efficiency, and supports our hospital in meeting the community’s growing healthcare needs.

Your participation in Gran Fondo Lake Huron directly strengthens local healthcare. Whether you ride, volunteer, or donate, you are helping provide the vital resources that keep our hospital at its best, ensuring lifesaving care for our community today and for generations to come.
